All governors must complete regular safeguarding training – including online safety – that is tailored to their role. This should be part of induction and refreshed at least annually, ensuring governors understand their safeguarding responsibilities and legal duties.

This monitoring tool helps governing boards to apply their training and assess the effectiveness of safeguarding culture, policies and processes.
